Connecting to the Internet

These dial up accounts are free to set up and cost you the same price when you are online as a local rate telephone call.

To have your account activated please call our free phone Support Line 0800 0960 162. Your account will be activated within a couple of minutes, and you can begin 'surfing the net'.

Please select the type of operating system your computer is running to find out how to set up your netzoomi dial up account.

Netzoomi Dial Up Connection for Windows 95/98

Please make sure you have your dial up phone number, account username and password before you follow the instructions below.

  1. Make sure you have Microsoft Dial-Up Networking installed (unfortunately this was not automatically included with some versions of Windows).
  2. From your "Start" button select Programs > Accessories > Dial-up Networking
  3. Click on "Make New Connection".
  4. You will then be asked for a name for your dial-up connection. Enter a meaningful name for the connection and then select the modem (or ISDN device) that you want this connection to use.
  5. Click Next, and enter your Dial-up Access Number we sent you by email with your username and password.
  6. If you are asked for the Country Code you should set this to "United Kingdom (44)".
  7. Click "Next" and you will now see a box telling you that you have successfully created a new Dial-up Networking connection.
  8. Click "Finish" to save this new connection. Note that on some systems clicking "Finish" will actually start the connection process.
  9. If the connection process has started then skip to step 12.
  10. In your Dial-Up Networking box you should now have 2 icons "Make New Connection" and another one for the new connection that you've just created.
  11. Click (or double-click) on your new connection and you will be asked for a Username and Password for the connection
  12. Enter the Dial-up Username and Dial-up Password from the Dial-up account confirmation email we sent you. Don't confuse these with the FTP or Email passwords.
  13. Make sure you enter Username and Password exactly as they are shown in your dial up confirmation email. Using Capital letters instead of small letters makes a big difference!
  14. Now check all the information. At this point you may also like to tick the "Save password" box so that you don't have to re-enter your password every time you connect.
  15. When you're happy with the settings, click "Connect" and wait. If everything works then the computer will tell you that the connection was successful.
  16. You can also tell whether you are connected to the Internet by looking at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.If you can see 2 little computers then you're connected to the Internet.
  17. Double-clicking on the 2 little computers will cause a window to be displayed showing you how long you've been connected. This window also has a "Disconnect" button.
  18. Once you're connected to the Internet you can use any program that makes use of the Internet such as a web browser or email program.

Netzoomi Dial Up Connection for Windows NT

Please make sure you have your dial up phone number, account username and password before you follow the instructions below.

  1. From your "Start" button select Programs > Accessories > Dial-up Networking
  2. Select New to create a New Phonebook Entry.
  3. Enter an "Entry name" for the connection.
  4. For "Phone number", enter the Dial-up Access Number we sent you by email with your Username and Password.
  5. Click "OK" to save this new connection.
  6. Now back in the "Dial-Up Networking" box, click "Dial" to start the connection process.
  7. You will now be asked for a Username and Password.
  8. Enter the Dial-up Username and Dial-up Password from the Dial-up account confirmation email we sent you. Don't confuse these with the FTP or Email passwords.
  9. Make sure you enter your Username and Password exactly as they are shown in your Dial-up account confirmation email. Using Capital letters instead of small letters makes a big difference!
  10. Now check all the information. At this point you may also like to tick the "Save password" box so that you don't have to re-enter your password every time you connect.
  11. When you're happy with the settings, click "OK" and wait. A box will appear telling you that the computer is dialling the number for the connection.
  12. When the connection is successful this box will disappear.
  13. When you are connected successfully a yellow telephone will appear in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Netzoomi Dial Up Connection for Windows 2000/ME

Please make sure you have your dial up phone number, account username and password before you follow the instructions below.

  1. From your "Start" button select Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections > Make New Connection
  2. Click "Next >". Select "Dial-up to the Internet".
  3. Click "Next >". Select the last option on the menu.
  4. Click "Next >". Select the first option.
  5. Click "Next >".Make sure the "Use area code and dialling rules" box is not ticked.
  6. Enter your Dial-up Access Number under "Telephone number".
  7. Click "Next >". Enter the Dial-up Username and Dial-up Password from the Dial-up account confirmation email we sent you. Don't confuse these with the FTP or Email passwords.
  8. Make sure you enter your Username and Password exactly as they are shown in your Dial-up account confirmation email. Using Capital letters instead of small letters makes a big difference!
  9. Enter a meaningful name for the connection.
  10. Click "Next >". If you want to set-up an Email account select "Yes" otherwise select "No".
  11. If you select "No" you have finished setting up your Dial-up connection.
  12. If you do not wish to connect immediately make sure the box is not ticked.
  13. Click "Finish" to save the connection.
  14. To start your new dial-up connection, select Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections and then select your new dial-up connection name.
  15. A box will then appear for you to confirm your Username. If your password has changed or is incorrect, you have an opportunity to enter a new password here.
  16. Click "Dial" to connect.
  17. When you connect you will see 2 computers appear in the bottom right hand corner. You can double-click on this icon at anytime to get information about how long you have been online and also disconnect.

Netzoomi Dial Up Connection for Windows XP

Please make sure you have your dial up phone number, account username and password before you follow the instructions below.

  1. From your "Start" button select Settings > Network Connections
  2. Click "Create a new connection" link on the left hand side of the Network Connections window.
  3. The New Connection Wizard opens up. Click "Next >".
  4. Select "Connect to the Internet". Click "Next >".
  5. Select "Set up my connection manually". Click "Next >".
  6. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem". Click "Next >".
  7. Type in the text a meaningful name for the connection e.g. Netzoomi. Click "Next >".
  8. Enter your Dial-up Access Number we sent you by email with your username and password. Click "Next >".
  9. Choose whether you want this connection to be available to all users of the computer or only for you.
  10. Enter the Dial-up Username and Dial-up Password from the Dial-up account confirmation email we sent you. Don't confuse these with the FTP or Email passwords.
  11. Click "Next >". Click "Finish"
  12. Once you are successfully connected to the Internet you will see a connection icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
