Setting up an Email on Mac Mail

To setup your email account on Apple's default Mail program you will require some additional configuration settings to manually add your account. Before proceeding, please ensure you have the following:

  • An IMAP email package (view prices)
  • Your email address: you@yourdomain.com
  • Your email password

Please Note: the below setup instructions are valid for the latest version of Mail on macOS Mojave ‐ for older version of the application please refer to Apple's own help pages. The setup, configuration and troubleshooting of third party applications such as Apple Mail is outwith the remit of services that we provide and any additional support may be chargeable.

How to Configure Apple Mail For Mac

  1. Open the Mail application and select the Mail drop down on your toolbar at the top.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Choose Other Mail Account as your provider
  4. Procced to fill in the information as follows:
    • Name: This is what others will see when you email them.
    • E-Mail Address: Your full email address
    • Password: Your email password

  5. On the next box Mail will flag an error with it trying to automatically add your account, here is where you configure the server information to the following:
    • Account Type: IMAP
    • Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain
    • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain
    • username: your full email address

  6. To complete the setup, click sign in for your IMAP email account to be added onto Apple Mail.
